Evaporative Coolers Australia

Choose water-based cooling for your space

Explore personal, portable and commercial evaporative coolers. Compare water-tank capacity, dimensions, airflow controls and the operating conditions recommended for each model. Compact desktop models and larger floor-standing units serve different purposes.

Check the cooling method first

Evaporative coolers use water-based cooling and are not refrigerated air conditioners. Some listings use both names, so check the individual specifications and instructions rather than relying on the title alone. For refrigerated equipment, browse Air Conditioners.

Plan filling, placement and maintenance

Compare tank access, water-level indicators, drainage and cleaning requirements. Check the specified ventilation and environmental conditions. Controls, timers, remotes, cooling pads and included ice packs vary by model; confirm package contents before ordering.

Frequently asked questions

Is an evaporative cooler a refrigerated air conditioner?

No. These are different cooling methods. Choose using the model’s specifications and intended operating conditions.

Will a personal cooler cool an entire room?

Do not assume so. Desktop units can be intended for nearby airflow rather than whole-room cooling.

Does a larger water tank mean greater cooling capacity?

Tank volume alone does not establish cooling performance. Compare airflow, intended use and manufacturer guidance.

Do these coolers need water?

Follow the model’s filling and operating instructions. Water requirements and any fan-only operation vary.

Can I add ice or ice packs?

Only as directed by the manufacturer. Check which ice packs or containers are included and how they should be prepared.

Are remotes and timers standard?

No. Features vary, so check the exact model and package contents.

How should the tank and cooling pads be maintained?

Follow the appliance manual for emptying, cleaning, drying and replacing parts. Match replacements to the exact model.
