Bath Mats & Rugs Australia

Find the right fit for your bathroom floor

Explore bath mats, bathroom rugs and shower mats for different bathroom layouts. Compare textured rugs, cotton and memory-foam styles, diatomite options, shaped designs and coordinated sets by their listed materials, dimensions and care requirements.

Choose a mat for the right position

• Beside the bath or shower: measure the available floor area and compare mat thickness, backing and door clearance.
• Inside a tub or shower: choose a product specifically intended for that use. Check suction-cup requirements, drainage and compatible surface types.
• At the vanity: compare compact mats and longer bathroom runners with the width of your sink area.
• Coordinated sets: review the number, shape and dimensions of each piece, including any contour mat or toilet-lid cover.

Materials, care & everyday use

Check the exact fibre or material composition rather than assuming every plush rug is cotton or every stone-style mat has the same construction. Wash, dry and position each product according to its instructions. A non-slip description is not a guarantee against slipping: check the stated floor suitability and keep the mat and surface beneath it clean and appropriately dry.

Frequently asked questions

What size bath mat should I choose?

Measure the usable floor area, allowing for doors, cabinets and the shower entrance. Compare the dimensions of the exact size selected, not just the product photograph.

Can a bathroom rug go inside the shower?

Not necessarily. Floor rugs and in-shower mats serve different purposes. Only use a mat inside a shower or bath where the manufacturer specifically allows it.

Are all bath mats machine washable?

No. Check the care label for the specific surface and backing. Some mats need hand cleaning or different drying methods.

What is included in a bathroom mat set?

Contents vary. Check whether the listing includes a rectangular rug, contour mat, lid cover, shower curtain or other pieces, and verify each item's dimensions.

How do I choose between plush and diatomite-style mats?

Compare the listed construction, underfoot texture, thickness, floor compatibility and cleaning instructions. Absorbency and drying claims apply to the specific product, not every mat in the range.

Will suction cups work on every shower surface?

Do not assume they will. Check the specified surface requirements, including restrictions for textured or uneven surfaces, and follow the placement instructions.

Can I use an animal-shaped or festive mat in the bathroom?

The design alone does not determine suitability. Check its intended use, dimensions, backing and care information, just as you would for a plain mat.
